This is really sad, for several reasons. 1) a rape victim, is a rape victim and shouldn’t be taken any less seriously because of their gender. And 2) no television show, or any form of entertainment should be more important than the justice that needs to be served. Follow @the_fight_for_rights for more #catcalling

This happened again today... One of the reasons I prefer running early in the morning and in quiet open spaces is because of catcallers. That's right, catcallers. Without a doubt, if I go running later in the day or in busier places, there will be at least one person (usually men, in my experience, although I'm sure it's not limited to men) who honks at me from their car, shouts out a comment about my body, or looks me up and down as I run. I ignore them and they often continue to harass me, calling after me to demand I tell them why I am ignoring them or shouting further vulgar comments. I can always feel their leers at my body as I speed up to get away from them more quickly. I run as it makes me feel good and catcallers always ruin what would have been a great run. Getting catcalled makes me feel degraded, unsafe and angry. It's not a compliment. It is insulting, threatening and sexist. I will not stop running because of it, but I would love to live in a world one day where we can go out without the fear of being catcalled.
