As mums and goddesses, we need to make sure that we’re looking after our overall wellbeing, that means our minds as well as our bodies. Our bodies take cues from our mindset, our thoughts and our current emotional state. Getting our smile back ‘stat’ is the most important thing. Here are 5 easy steps to start today: 1. Make an appointment with your GP to get a mental health plan and book in to see a psychologist. 2. Touch base with your mum, a friend or someone you trust and ask for help. It might sound like, ‘I need to talk today’ or ‘I’m really not doing so well, can you help me make a plan’. 3. Go someplace where you feel safe - surround yourself with family, go to a friend’s place or stay at home. 4. Do something nice for yourself. Go for a walk, run a bath, pick some flowers, make some art, pour some tea. 5. Lift your mood by planning as many things as you need to look forward to.
